OptiPeople Data Platform can collect data from both:

• manual processes

Automatic processes are typically machines and industrial systems, where runtime or measured values can be captured automatically.

Manual processes are, for example:

• mounting
• packaging
• logistics
• assembly
• sanding
• drilling

Here, your operators use the operator panel in OptiPeople Data Platform to register start and stop times, number of units and other information about the process.

Calculating OEE

One of the core modules in the platform is the OEE module.

OEE is calculated from:

• availability
• performance
• quality

The modules answer practical questions from production and help you keep improving.

Measuring availability

The availability module answers questions such as:

• What is the average uptime?
• How long does a stop usually last?
• How much time passes between stops?
• How many stops are there per shift or per day?

Planning shifts

To calculate real availability, the platform needs to know your planned production time.

That is why shift planning is part of the model. You can create:

• multiple shifts per day
• your own shift templates
• shift calendars for holidays and exceptions

Analyzing performance

Availability doesn't tell you how fast the machine runs while it is running.

The performance module compares actual speed with target or expected speed. That shows you whether the process runs effectively when it is up.

Quality and units information

The platform can also handle:

• order and unit information
• different expected speeds by order type
• scrap and rejection tracking

That way you see output, speed and quality together in one place.
